Define the review
Claude can work with supplied documents, but ‘review this’ leaves the goal unclear. State whether you need a summary, contradictions, missing requirements or a comparison with another version. Identify which document is authoritative and include dates where versions differ.
Ask for traceable findings
Request a finding, supporting passage and suggested next step for each issue. Separate definite inconsistencies from points needing clarification. In an illustrative project brief, a missing delivery owner is different from a stylistic weakness in the introduction.
Check coverage and interpretation
Verify the most consequential findings against the original and inspect a few sections the assistant did not flag. A model can overlook material even when a large document fits in context. If the review is too broad, divide it by question rather than arbitrary page count. Keep human judgement over decisions the document informs. A good result is a review someone can act on, with a clear distinction between source evidence and editorial suggestion.
